Early years - at five I painted and cut out masks of beautiful women and ran around with these masks strapped to my face.
At school my artistic inclinations were known to all my classmates and I got to do everyone's perspective drawings.
At eighteen I decided at the spur of the moment to attend the art college in my home city, Linz. A year later I began to study painting seriously - at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna.
Painting has been my life, but I always remained open to influences from other disciplines like printing and photography.
I realised that without knowedge of digital technologies I would be hopelessly left behind. So I studied again - at the Hypermedia Research Centre - and I became a total convert to the wonders of the Adobe Universe. I started to put my designs into motion and created my first animations and animated patterns.
In 2004, I left teaching to train as a textile designer. My work is increasingly concerned with pattern - as design and in an abstract way linked to philosophy and mathematics.
